Brent Thomas has been appointed the Orillia Fire Chief.
He has been serving as Acting Fire Chief since April, following the retirement of former Fire Chief Ralph Dominelli.
Mayor Steve Clarke said “During his time as Acting Fire Chief, Thomas demonstrated excellent leadership skills and a deep caring for the Orillia community. Council and I were unanimous in our decision to officially appoint Chief Thomas to the position.”
Thomas has been a member of the Orillia Fire Department since 2014, where he served as Assistant Fire Chief.
He brings extensive experience to the position of Fire Chief as a result of his 30 years in the fire service, 10 years as a paramedic and involvement in provincial fire service committees and training groups.
