The Hallmark Channel has reversed its decision to ban an advertisement featuring a same-sex couple getting married.
A conservative group complained about the ads last week, prompting Hallmark to pull the ads.
The organization One Million Moms issued a statement, claiming that, “Hallmark movies are family-friendly, and you ruined it with the commercial.”
However, after receiving online backlash from people and celebrities, the broadcaster says it is reinstating the advertisements.
The commercial from Zola.com featured two lesbians kissing at the end of their wedding ceremony.
The parent company of the Hallmark Channel, Crown Media Family Network, has apologized for the decision to remove the ad with CEO Mike Perry releasing a statement, which read “We are truly sorry for the hurt and disappointment this has caused.”
