Donald Trump has become the third US president in history to be impeached by the House of Representatives.
The House voted last night on two charges – that the president abused his power and obstructed Congress.
The first charge for abuse of power, stemmed from Trump's alleged attempt to pressure Ukraine to announce investigations into his Democratic political rival, Joe Biden.
It passed by 230 votes to 197.
The second charge for obstruction of Congress, is because the president allegedly refused to co-operate with the impeachment inquiry.
It passed by 229-198.
A trial is set to take place in the Senate in the New Year.
However, the Republican Party has a majority there, making it almost impossible that the president will be removed from office.
Neither of the other presidents who have been impeached – Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson – were removed from office.
