The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada has deployed investigators to Lake Simcoe Regional Airport, north of Barrie this afternoon after a “runway occurrence.”
The board made the announcement on Twitter shortly before 4 pm.
TSB Spokesperson Alex Fournier tells Max FM that there was one person – the pilot – on board and that there were no injuries after the plane left the runway at 12:30 pm today.
Fournier says there are reports of possible structural damage to the plane and that the cause has yet to be determined.
More details will be released once the TSB concludes its investigation.
