An enteric outbreak at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland is over.
Staff revealed last week that it was dealing with an enteric outbreak on its 2 East Inpatient Unit.
However, the outbreak was declared over yesterday in consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, after no new cases were diagnosed in the past few days.
According to Public Health Ontario, enteric diseases are caused by micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria and parasites that cause intestinal illness.
