As a New Year begins, residents are being warned about some potential price hikes.
Some of the areas where you can expect to spend more this year include: groceries, housing, taxes, and gasoline.
According to a recent report from researchers at Dalhousie University and the University of Guelph, food prices are expected to rise between two and four per cent.
You can also expect to pay more into the Canada Pension Plan in 2020, while experts say gas prices are expected to rise within a couple cents a litre this year compared to what we saw in 2019.
A cash fare to ride the bus in Orillia is increasing by $0.10 from $2.50 to $2.60 and there will also be price changes to bulk ticket fees.
The increase was approved by Council as part of the 2020 budget process.
