The annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids is taking place this weekend at the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre near Midland.
From 10am until noon Saturday, kids can check out several amazing birds, including: blue jays, cardinals, chickadees, mourning doves and nuthatches.
Kids will be taken on a walk through the marsh with an experienced birdwatcher and try to find as many bird species as they can.
Participants will also have a chance to grab a handful of birdseed and feed chickadees right from their hand.
All bird sightings during the two-hour count are recorded, and findings are submitted through an online checklist to eBird Canada, where they can be used in scientific research.
The count is one of the many activities the Wye Marsh will have available during the winter break.
