The province has confirmed the second positive case of coronavirus in Toronto.
A statement from the provincial government says the new patient is the wife of the first person to be diagnosed, and has been in self-isolation since landing with her husband from China.
On Saturday, health officials in Ontario confirmed the first “presumptive” positive case of the new coronavirus in Canada.
The province's associate chief medical officer of health said it was a man in his 50's who had travelled to Wuhan, China, and is now listed in stable condition at Toronto's Sunnybrook Hospital.
While the case has been confirmed by a test in Toronto, officials said it has yet to complete separate testing, which will ultimately confirm the illness.
The death toll from the Wuhan coronavirus now stands at 80, with almost 2,800 cases confirmed across China.
