The main drag in Wasaga Beach will be closed for the 2020 summer season.
Town council ratified the decision to close Beach Drive at its meeting last night (Tuesday), in order to protect the beach.
Clean-up from high winds and high water levels pushing sand across the road cost about 15 thousand dollars for each of the four major events last year.
A staff report states that public works employees will need to do more frequent and daily beach raking and litter collection.
Beach Drive stores will still be open for the season though.
