Dunlop Street East residents and businesses can expect to be dry for several hours today.
The City of Barrie has issued a notice regarding an interruption in water service Thursday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
However, this 12-hour window is considered a “worst-case scenario due to winter conditions” and if any issues arise during the work.
Water is expected to be restored sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., provided there are no unforeseen problems.
The water will be shut off from 50 Dunlop St. E. to Mulcaster Street, and Owen Street from Collier Street to Dunlop East.
The temporary shutdown is required for the city's water operations branch to perform work on the watermain as it relates to the ongoing Dunlop Street East corridor improvements.
During the noted times, water will not be available until work is complete.
