Southern Georgian Bay OPP have charged a 26-year-old man with impaired driving after a traffic stop led to a foot chase.
Police were called by a business in Midland about a impaired driver. Officers had seen the vehicle driving erratically before stopping the driver on Balm Beach Road in Tiny Township.
An officer then instructed the driver exit the vehicle for a field sobriety test, but the driver ran away.
Police caught up to the man, and used a conducted energy weapon to stop him.
The driver from Tiny Township is being charged with operation while impaired, failure to comply, and for having a blood alcohol level above zero as a novice driver.
He’s expected in court next month.
