Southern Georgian Bay OPP and the Ministry of Natural Resources were out on local snowmobile trails on Friday to provide rider education and enforcement.
Officers logged over 36 hours of patrol and checked more than 75 snowmobilers and ice fishers for equipment, licences, and registration.
Five people were given warnings, and four were given fines.
The OPP and Ministry want to remind everyone out enjoying the trails to ride according to trail conditions, obey posted speed limits, and to never snowmobile while impaired.
They also warn that no ice is safe ice, and to check reliable sources before heading out for ice fishing.
