The hamlet of Warminster, just west of Orillia, is going to get an upgraded pedestrian crosswalk.
Residents have been pushing for a safer way for pedestrians to get across busy Highway 12.
The crosswalk in place now has flashing amber lights that pedestrians can activate.
But they’re difficult to see at sunrise and sunset, and some drivers ignore them.
The province says it will fund the installation of a full set of traffic lights that will change from green to red, forcing traffic to stop.
