UPDATE: Halton Police are reporting the suspect in the active shooter incidents has been taken into custody.
They report one person is dead at the scene of the shootings while two others have been taken to the hospital.
PRIOR: Peel Regional Police is investigating an Active Shooter who is considered armed and dangerous.
On Twitter, police reported two people shot this afternoon around 2:15 pm – one has been transported to a trauma center.
The shootings are said to have happened in the Argentia Road/Winston Churchill Blvd area in Mississauga.
The suspect vehicle is a black Jeep Cherokee w/partial plate *905*
You are urged to call 911 immediately if you see it – it is a stolen vehicle.
The suspect is a black male with a thin build, and bulky hair wearing all black and a yellow construction vest
If seen, do not approach. Call 911 immediately.
UPDATE: Suspect has been located and is in police custody. 1 person has been pronounced deceased at the scene and 2 others have been transported to hospital.
