Five federal party leaders have sparred in French over several topics including Indigenous reconciliation, climate change and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Tonight, they’ll do it in English, starting at 9 o’clock.
The two-hour commercial-free debate will include five segments, each corresponding to one of the five themes:
- Affordability
- Climate
- COVID recovery
- Leadership and accountability
- Reconciliation
The five leaders invited by the Leaders’ Debates Commission are:
Yves-François Blanchet (Bloc Québécois),
Erin O’Toole (Conservative Party of Canada),
Annamie Paul (Green Party of Canada),
Jagmeet Singh (New Democratic Party),
and Justin Trudeau (Liberal Party of Canada).
The 2021 Canadian federal election will take place on September 20, 2021, to elect members of the House of Commons to the 44th Canadian Parliament.
