Two men are facing lengthy fishing bans after being caught with too many perch in Innisfil.
One man was hit with a $5-thousand fine and a lifetime fishing suspension.
Meanwhile, the other fisherman, was given a 10-year fishing suspension.
Both pleaded guilty to being caught with 260 yellow perch on March 18th.
They were stopped by a conservation officer with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry after doing some ice fishing on Lake Simcoe near Gilford.
The ministry is reminding anglers that fishing regulations are in place to maintain a sustainable fishery for future generations to enjoy.
