Orillia OPP are investigating a fatal crash.
Four youths were travelling east on James Street at a high rate of speed early Thursday morning around 2:30 when it lost control and struck a telephone pole.
A 16-year-old male was transported to a Toronto hospital where he died of his injuries.
Three others ranging in ages between 16 and 18 were taken by paramedics to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
James Street was closed between Memorial and West Street South for several hours.
The Central Region Technical Collision Investigators were brought in to investigate further.
