Orillia District Collegiate and Vocational Institute closed in 2016 and now the County of Simcoe has bought the West Street property.
The plan is to turn the site into a regional services hub.
That covers a lot of options including long term care, affordable housing, paramedic services, among other needs that the County says must meet growing service demands in the area.
The old school building will be demolished.
The public will have input on what should go on the property with a series of open houses to be held next year.
