Provincial police launch their 10-day fall seat belt campaign today, with a reminder to motorists that air bags do not replace seat belts and are designed to work with seat belts, not instead of them.
So far this year, there have been 34 deaths on OPP-patrolled roads where the victim was not wearing a seat belt.
The number was 30 such deaths at this time last year, and 49 in total for all of 2017.
If you are not buckled up, the fine is $240 and two demerit points.
