Another offensive explosion for the Barrie Colts.
They scored three goals in a span of 39 seconds to open the second period on their way to a 10-3 victory over the Sudbury Wolves Thursday night.
The Colts were trailing 1-0 in the first period when they scored twice on goals by Lucas Chiodo (3 goals, 2 assists) for a 2-1 lead.
Tyler Tucker (1 goal, 1 assist) made it 3-1 for the Colts 37 seconds into the second period.
That was followed by Matej Pekar (1 goal, 2 assists) 21 seconds later and then Chiodo's third of the game at the 1:16 mark.
Ben Hawerchuk (2 goals) would scored two more before the end of the period to put Barrie up 6-1.
The top line of Ryan Suzuki (1 goal, 4 assists), Pekar, and Chiodo combined for 13 points.
Kai Edmonds stopped 33 shots for the Colts (2-1-0-0).
David Levin, Nolan Hutchinson, and Cole Candella replied for the Wolves (1-2-0-0) while Jake McGrath and Marshall Frappier combined to make 17 saves.
Power plays saw Barrie go 1-for-2, Sudbury were 1-for-6.
The same two teams face off this Sunday afternoon in Sudbury.
