Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was in police custody.
Barrie Police arrested a man on the evening of September 5th and he was taken to the station.
While at the station, the man was in medical distress and was taken by ambulance to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre where he was admitted in to Intensive Care.
The 55-year-old was pronounced dead on Friday.
A post-mortem was scheduled for on Monday.
