Patients arriving for appointments at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital will be registered through a new centralized intake process starting Monday, December 3rd.
The change aims to enhance the patient experience, improve data quality, increase efficiency and standardize processes.
Instead of registering directly in the department of their appointment, patients will check in at one of three new registration points by main entries.
The three areas include the main entrance, outpatient services entrance and the emergency entrance.
Most hospital departments will adapt to this change on December 3rd, but a few, including Paediatric Outpatients and Dialysis, will changeover in April 2019 as part of a second phase.
