Conservative leader Andrew Scheer says Tony Clement will remain in caucus, but he didn't directly answer whether Clement could run again under the Conservative banner in 2019.
Scheer was mobbed by reporters this morning seeking more information about the sexting scandal that has engulfed the Parry Sound-Muskoka MP.
Clement has admitted he sent sexually explicit images and a video of himself to someone he believed was a consenting woman, and now claims he is a victim of an extortion.
He has resigned as justice critic.
Scheer called Clement's actions 'a terrible lapse of judgement.'
Global News reports the person behind the online profile is seeking 50,000 euros from Clement or is threatening to release the pictures publicly.
