Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) has received $25,000 from the Sandra Schmirler Foundation in support of its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
This gift will support the purchase of six Neonatal Incubators, which will help save the lives of countless premature and critically ill newborns.
The Sandra Schmirler Foundation was created in memory of Sandra Schmirler, a three-time world curling champion and Olympic gold medalist.
Inspired by Sandra’s love of family, the Foundation supports the purchase of life-saving equipment for hospitals’ NICUs across Canada and provides scholarships for junior curlers, so that each may grow up to become champions like Sandra.
