Simcoe Grey MPP Jim Wilson's resignation from cabinet and his removal from the PC caucus dominated question period in the legislature today.
The NDP demanded to know why the premier's office first said Wilson had quit to seek treatment for addiction issues and then days later confirmed allegations of sexual misconduct against Wilson.
Premier Ford said that's because the person that came forward asked to be protected.
This was the first time since Wilson's resignation that the official opposition had a chance to question the premier about the incident.
The NDP accused the government of trying to sweep a serious incident under the rug.
It has been confirmed Wilson is seeking treatment for addiction.
