Fraud Awareness for Seniors will be the topic at an upcoming presentation in Oro Medonte.
Hosted by the Simcoe-Dufferin Muskoka Crime Stoppers, Presenter Tom Cheel from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre will give a 45-minute presentation on fraud awareness and prevention.
The event is free and open to seniors and their families.
It’s happening at 10 am on November 27th at the Oro Medonte Arena.
Some of the top frauds currently targeting seniors are Romance, Prize, Extortion, Bank Inspector, Emergency / Grandparent Calls, Anti-Virus Scams and Phishing Scams which police say can lead to Identity Theft.
