An Innisfil man has pleaded guilty in connection with the 2017 fatal overdose case.
Today, 25-year-old Ryan Walker pleaded guilty in Barrie Court to Criminal Negligence Causing Death and Trafficking in a
Controlled Substance.
Walker will be sentenced on January 23, 2019.
The background:
A 23-year-old Innisfil man was found dead on April 10, 2017 and toxicology results confirmed he died of an overdose of Fentanyl and Heroin.
A subsequent investigation by the South Simcoe Police resulted in the arrest of two men. They were initially charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl and Trafficking in Heroin.
The investigation continued and on August 30, 2017, both men were charged jointly with Manslaughter.
A 55-year-old Innisfil man remains before the courts at this time on a charge of Manslaughter.
