Oro-Medonte Mayor Harry Hughes says they may need the help of the Province to make sure Burl's Creek can hold the Boots and Hearts Festival next August.
A temporary bylaw that has allowed Burl's Creek to use agricultural land for parking, camping and recreational activities expires at the end of the month.
An application for a permanent bylaw goes before the Ontario Municipal Board in April and the Township is unsure how long it will take for a ruling.
If it is anything like that last time, Hughes says it was almost a year.
The Mayor doesn't believe there is enough time for Burl's Creek to get everything in place if it means waiting on an OMB ruling.
Hughes hopes the province might be able to bring in a decision to allow a bridging of sorts so events can take place at Burl's Creek until the OMB rules on the application.
Hughes says it's a dicey situation for the community.
