It’s a brand new year and new councils and boards are looking forward to working together in Orillia.
On behalf of the new City of Orillia Council Mayor Angelo Orsi says they’re putting the past behind them and are encouraged to be working closely with the Orillia Downtown Management Board.
Orsi says the bottom line is that it’s an economic generator and the City recognizes that a good working relationship with the ODMB is key in fostering the downtown revitalization.
Referencing the past relationship between the two sides Mayor Orsi says he doesn’t feel there’s any baggage, and looks forward to working with the new ODMB board.
Just 2 of 8 members are returning to their seats with the ODMB, among the new members is business women and City Councillor Linda Murray.
Regarding the new board, Mayor Orsi says it’s wonderful that there is new energy and focus, and hopes that winning combination will bring positive results.
Already with kudos for the ODMB, Orsi says the group is doing a fantastic job in their efforts to regenerate the downtown facade and bring more people to our downtown core.
Orsi states anything that fosters job creation and boosts the local economy is good for everyone.
