Orillia City Councillors hoping to be reimbursed for cost associated with providing a website look to be out of luck for the time being.
A motion put forward at Monday’s council committee meeting was seeking to provide councillors with funds for the hosting of a website and its domain name.
The cost associated with those services would have been approximately $220 for each councillor per year.
The motion will instead be deferred to the communications committee for further review.
Orillia City Councillor Linda Murray says its important for the City carefully consider issues pertaining to online communications.
She says that will be a key issue for the communications committee.
Murray says the committee will look to establish a framework for communication and personal websites may be a part of that.
