Simcoe North MP Bruce Stanton says he is eager to run again for re election once a Federal vote is called.
Stanton tells Sunshine 89.1 news he was truly surprised by the announcement that two senior Tory Cabinit Ministers will not be seeking re election.
The Harper government will fight the next election without two high-profile cabinet ministers, and a long-time M-P.
Transport Minister Chuck Strahl and Treasury Board President Stockwell Day both say they won’t be seeking re-election.
Stanton says both Day and Strahl have contributed a lot to the Country and the Conservative party and they are going to be missed by all parties in the Commons.
As for his re-election plans, Stanton says he looks forward to running again and serving the people of Simcoe North.
However he says he would rather see any election come later on rather than anytime soon.
Stanton says there is still much work to do concerning the economic recovery and job creation here in the riding.
