A world record curling game is ending tonight in Muskoka, after as much as 69 hours of non-stop hurrying hard.
Curlers at the Bala Curling Club have been on the ice since 6 a.m. Monday, trying to set a Guinness record for the world’s longest game. The plan is to play until 6 p.m. tonight, March 16.
As of 9 this morning, the two teams had played 209 ends, and raised about 20-thousand dollars.
Past-President of the club, and one of the curlers, Rob Davidson tells us, the goal of the extra long game is not only to get into the book of world records, but also to raise twenty-five thousand dollars for renovations at the club.
Davidson says the 98-year old, two-sheet rink needs work on its basement along with some other upgrades.
