Spring is officially here as of tonight at 7:21pm and many fitness savvy folks are lacing up their running shoes and getting their strides back.
Spring running can have it’s challenges though, weather, road conditions, and strains, so being prepared and aware are safety musts.
To avoid injuries if you are re-starting or simply starting a jogging routine Jennifer, a Running Room Manager, says good shoes and clothing are key.
Outdoor safety at this time of year is important as roads can still be slippery, Jennifer says you can buy tractions for your regular shoes, she also recommends shortening your stride.
There are a number of fun local 5 and 10 kilometer races coming up right here in our area, or you can always start small with the upcoming MS Walk in Orillia taking Place April 17th.
