It looks like the Simcoe County portion of your taxes will include a two percent increase this year.
During almost a whole day of meetings on Tuesday, county councillors approved a recommendation to forward the draft 2019 budget to council for approval on January 22nd.
The budget, subject to council approval, carries a total of 550 million dollars in spending.
Warden George Cornell says he believes this budget is responsible and positive for the county.
He adds that even though Tuesday's meeting was very long, it was a good learning experience for new councillors to see what goes into a budget at this level, the services the county provides and what things cost.
