There is a new player in the Tourism game in Grey Bruce and Simcoe counties.
The Regional Tourism Organization 7 Board has now named its executive, and the Chair of Group is Bev Philp of Blue Mountain Resort, and the Vice Chair is Ralph Cipolla, an Orillia based businessman.
Under the Tourism Ministry, this non profit group is to build and support competitive and sustainable tourism in the three counties.
Cipolla says the board is now working on developing a start up and business plan to submit to the Ministry of Tourism in preparation for its first fiscal year of operation.
He says the Ministry has provided the group with about 2.5 million dollars to implement their business plan and encourage more tourism in the three counties.
Cipolla says that the Internet will play a big role in how they market this region not only to the rest of Southern Ontario, but to people who live in Grey Bruce and Simcoe Counties as well.
He describes the new social media as the future of tourism.
