Health and Wellness students from Georgian College need your help to help others.
The students are in need of supplies for an upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic where they will provide medical care, supplies and education to communities in desperate need.
Nursing Faculty member and group leader, Jane Barnes, says they host trips to developing countries for the purpose of offering medical, educational and technical assistance, and the fostering of personal awareness and growth.
This year 92 people, varying from students to faculty and practicing professionals, will be travelling to provide care in three groups. The first group departs on April 26.
But Barnes says that before they go they need supplies like vitamins, Tylenol or Advil, childrens shoes, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
She says the supplies brought from Canada will make a huge impact in the poverty-stricken communities.
You can donate supplies or make a monetary donations by calling Jane Barnes at 705-728-1968, ext. 5332 or Sheila Wojcik at ext. 5580. jebarnes@georgianc.on.ca
Monetary donations will be accepted until April 1, and donations of supplies will be accepted until April 9.
