Three local people involved in the outdoors and conservation have been honoured by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters.
Hannah Edwards of Vasey is the 2010 winner of the OFAH Heritage Junior Award.
The 13-year old has been a member of the Georgian Bay Get Outdoors Club since 2004.
Hannah’s efforts have included tree planting, stream improvement, invasive species projects, building and maintaining Wood Duck boxes, a Pitch-In event, working as a gunner at the Labrador Owners Club Retriever Trials, and participating in game calling competitions.
Michele and Kevin Vardy of Coldwater were named winners of the Larry Wallace Memorial Award for 2010.
The husband and wife team mentor the Georgian Bay Get Outdoors Club youth and are actively involved in the outdoor community.
The OFAH also recognizes the efforts of its member clubs that top the list of fundraisers through OFAH Conservation Lottery ticket sales. The Georgian Bay Anglers and Hunters received the 2010 Bert Austin Trophy for highest sales.
