The Pediatrics Department at Orillia’s Soldiers Memorial Hospital will be the beneficiary of this years Rally for Kids fundraiser.
Mike Davenport, of Davenport Subaru in Orillia, is participating in Targa Newfoundland road rally in September 2011.
In memory of his son Adam, Mike has designated the Pediatrics Department at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital as the sole beneficiary. Adam passed away in 1997 after battling Leukemia,
The goal is to raise a total of $20,000 through pledges and from a number of community events leading up to the road race across Newfoundland.
Targa Newfoundland is a 2,200 kilometer, 7-day race across Newfoundland.
In 2010, Mike Davenport and Shawn Monette placed 5th overall.
The official launch of the fundraiser takes place Sunday at 2 pm at Boston Pizza in Orillia
