The Orillia Business Women’s Association has announced the nominations for the 21st Annual Nelle Carter Women of the Year and the Lisa Brooking Young Woman of the Year Awards for 2011.
Association spokesperson Betsy Gross says there are three nominations for the Nelle Carter Women of the Year award.
They are Joanne Davison, Sarah Valiquette and Deborah Wagner.
Nominated for Lisa Brooking Young Woman of the Year are: Taylor Bull – Park St. Collegiate, Teresa Mayo – Patrick Fogarty Secondary School , Molly McFarlane – Orillia & District Collegiate Vocational Institute and Jenna Reid – Twin Lakes Secondary School .
Women are nominated for this honour by friends, co-workers or employers and young women from local high schools are nominated by teachers or friends. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges and the awards are presented at the annual dinner
The OBWA Woman of the Year event is set for Wednesday May 11, 2011 at the Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club.
