Orillia City Council will discuss tonight the report prepared by Grant Thornton with regard to the municipal budget process.
A representative from Grant Thornton will be at tonight’s Orillia council meeting to field questions from council members about the recently prepared Budget Process Improvement report.
The report contains a series of recommendations on how to overhaul the process.
Among other things – the report calls for greater involvement of council in general.
It calls for a series of meetings for council to discuss issues pertaining to the budget and also calls for the budget process to begin earlier to provide more time to go through the budget at a more thorough pace.
The whole report will be presented to council tonight.
