It was standing room only in the Orillia Council chamber as all five candidates proclaimed their party would be the saviour of Canada’s health care system.
Christian Heritage candidate Adrian Kooger took exception to the number of private abortion clinics operating in Canada, while the NDP’s Richard Banigan says public health care saved his wife’s life.
Liberal Steve Clark promised a system that will provide equality in health care, and the Green Party Valerie Powell said Tommy Douglas would be turning over in his grave if he thought private health care could become a reality in Canada.
Conservative Candidate Bruce Stanton tore a s trip off the Liberal Candidate for the actions of previous liberal governments that cut back on health care spending.
