Orillia OPP have made an arrest in one of three convenience store robberies that have occurred in the city in the past 7 days,.
The latest arrest came Monday night after a hold up at a storeĀ in the area of Mississaga Street West and Barrie Road.
A male entered the store and demanded cash from the clerk. The male suspect was armed with a knife. The suspect stole money and lottery tickets and then fled from the scene on foot.
OPP Constable Gerry Dwyer says Police were on the scene quickly and contained the area and searched for the suspect.
He says thanks to several witnesses a description of a suspect vehicle was obtained and broadcasted to the OPP units in the area.
A short time later the vehicle was located in the area and was stopped by police.
The lone male suspect was arrested without incident.
A 26 year old Orillia male is in custody and is under investigation and will be facing several Criminal Code charges.
this was one of three holdups that occurred at convenience stores in the last week alone.
the hunt for the other two suspects continues.
