Conservative Bruce Stanton has won his third consecutive term in Simcoe North. Stanton secured 31,579 votes for a 54.44% share. The NDP surge moved Richard Banigan into second with 11,514 votes, that’s 19.85% of the vote. Liberal candidate Steve Clarke was third with 11,090 votes or 19.12%.
The Green Party’s Valerie Powell received 6.02% which translates to 3,489 votes. And Adrian Kooger of the Christian Heritage Party had 332 votes or a .57% share.
