This is the begriming of Safe Kids Week in Orillia.
This year the Safe Kids Week focus is all about car seats.
Car seats have changed a lot over the years and their presence has helped reduce deaths and injuries to children immensely, but they work best when installed correctly.
The Canadian Pediatric Society notes the most common errors are, seat not secured tightly enough , the harness system not snug and
chest clip not at armpit level.
If you have questions about your child’s car seat, read the instructions again or visit www.simcoemuskokahealth.org.
