Orillia City Council has given the owners of the former Sundial Inn fair warning to do something about their dilapidated property.
A motion put forward by Mayor Angelo Orsi calls for the owners to demolish the building by July 30th – or the City will do it.
Orsi says the issue has been going on for too long and needs to be dealt with now.
Councillor Michael Fogarty also voiced his support for the motion – he says the now burned out property makes for a bad first impression to those entering Orillia.
Excessive mould growth and the presence of asbestos has made the building a health and safety hazard for area residents – as well as the ongoing problems with thieves and vandals.
