The Orillia OPP are investigating a motor vehicle accident that happened last evening at the intersection of Front and Coldwater, which has resulted in the death of one pedestrian.
OPP say that a north bound vehicle on Front street was making a left turn onto Coldwater around 6:45pm and struck two female pedestrians who were crossing the road. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other, an 89-year old woman was taken to Soldiers Memorial Hospital. The female driver of the car was also taken to hospital as a precaution, although she was not injured.
The names are not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
