The Community Living Association for South Simcoe is calling it a “staff error”. They’re referring to an inicident Monday that saw a 24-year-old man with down-syndrom locked in a van for 3 hours.
Christian Austen was left in the van after a field trip to Cookstown.
Officials for CLASS say he was forgotten in the commotion of getting everyone back into their building.
An employee noticed Austen in the van several hours later.
He was taken from the vehicle sweaty and pale, but did not require medical attention.
Three staff members have been suspended and a police investigation is underway.
