Barrie will be the new home of an NBL team.
The newly formed National Basketball League of Canada named five new teams today, Barrie, Kingston, Oshawa, London and a team out of PEI.
The league says the five teams will now have to go through an approval process to establish the viability of each organization.
If approved, they would join the three existing teams for the first ever season beginning in October.
An ownership meeting is scheduled for June 29th in Toronto.
