Barrie Police are searching for suspects after three unique scales were stolen from a local business.
On Saturday, police learned of a break, enter and theft that occurred sometime overnight between 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11 and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12. At that time, a storage unit within a complex on Big Bay Point Road had been forcibly entered.
It has been determined that three unique scales that were used primarily for ice fishing tournaments were stolen. The scales, which are similar to those used in local grocery stores or delicatessens, are described as Bizerba Scale SCII 100 and have a combined value in excess of $7000. It is possible that given the high-end quality of these scales that they could be sold and used in a professional type countertop setting that requires product being weighed, labelled and combined with a cash register.
Anyone with information on this break, enter and theft is asked to contact Barrie Police.
