Over 100 local volunteers are being recognized for their hard work and dedication.
The Orillia Volunteer Service Award Ceremony took place at the Orillia Fairgrounds last evening.
Altogether, those in attendance racked up over two thousand combined years of service – some in the crowd had served upward of 50 years as a volunteer.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the awards.
Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop says the number of people being honoured here in Orillia shows the overall character of the community and of rural Ontario as a whole.
